Technology and Educational Technology
Technology
and Educational Technology
Following
my previous post about the positives of having a digital resume and why it is
very beneficial to sign up to mobileresume.org, however, this post is more
towards education in general.
To set the
record straight, what I mean about education is not only the knowledge you get
at school but also in work in means of professional development or experience
which will become a part of your knowledge. A lot of companies these days, some
more than others are very technologically advanced and relies heavily on their
tech to operate on a daily basis. So if you belong to the resistance, constantly
hiding behind the phrase “well it worked perfectly in the past without tech” in
my opinion, you really need to be more open to change.
It might
have worked in the past, but we don’t live there anymore not to mention, there
is a lot of competition in the market these days in addition, some governmental
bodies might require certain systems in order to monitor the company. You might
feel out of your element and that whatever the tech that you are forced to use
is unnecessary and that your children shouldn’t have to use tech devices to do
their homework or use software to acquire knowledge rather they should only use
pen and paper exactly how you used to do, because you have done it like that
and it worked and this is the only and proper way on how to do it.
You can rant,
parade, complain and put on an argument as much as you want claiming that you
know what is better for yourself or child, but allow me to put it in simple
words, the world is changing and is relying
more and more on tech, while some resistance is good but also swimming against
the stream isn’t the wisest decision nor forcing a company or school to accommodate
what you see is best. While there are a lot of benefits and a lot of negatives
to using tech, but that is the case in everything in life, it is up to you to
see the half empty or half full glass. You can always search for companies or
schools that functions according your comfort zone, but surely trying to force
a company or school to accommodate your comfort zone is just . . . . . .
